One Killed, Three Injured in Washington Car Crash

One teenager was fatally injured and three others are in serious condition after the car in which they were riding crashed into a tree during the early morning hours in Kent. According to a report in the News Tribune, an 18-year-old driver was pronounced dead at the scene and three teen passengers were taken to a Seattle hospital with serious injuries, which officials said, was not life-threatening. Police said the teens had met another group of friends earlier in SeaTac and that both groups were on their way to a house in Kent when the accident happened. Teens in the other car witnessed the accident, but were not involved in the crash. Officials say preliminary investigations point to speed, driver inexperience and possible alcohol use as factors in this tragic accident.
