As per your name, I understand you are a programmer. So, I would suggest a site where you can find some programming jobs. Have a look at http://www.freelance-projects.info As such, this site itself does not have any direct projects, so you need to find suitable projects and hit the "Place Bid" link to go to the actual site with the project and register on that site and then bid for the work.
This site aggregates projects from various sites and hence, is a one stop shop for finding work from various sites!

Photojournalism is a great way to explore cultures anywhere in the world. You may start out shooting for a small paper and as you get better known in the industry, you may be able to get a newspaper or magazine to let you do a self-directed assignment. If you are at all successful, you may find yourself traveling to destinations of your choice, exploring those subjects that interest you. Throughout photojournalist history, those kinds of photographer personalities pass through from time to time. Eugene Smith comes to mind but there have been others. Why not you?
I’m looking for information on how to procure either a full-time or a part-time writing job from home. I have the writing credentials, I simply do not have resources to find these jobs online.

I am in the same boat and still struggling to achieve steady freelance work. The most you can do is get a Web site created showcasing your work, clients, testimonies, and services and then advertise on Craigslist or anywhere else you can for free. This has been my method along with answering various ads.
Unfortunately writers are not in high demand right now and employers who are hiring writers usually will not pay well.

Freelance jobs r the jobs which u do at ur leisure time in a stipulated time period given by the company. U hv flexible working hours of ur choice. U can do it at the place or ur choice. It is like home based job thru internet. I am doing one job of data conversion.
Or would you still have to report to the site where the job is coming from?
I can’t afford to commute to downstate NY from where I am-it’s too expensive.
If you’re freelancing, you’re free to set the conditions yourself.
Tell the company you only work from home, if that’s what you want to do. Or tell them you’ll work from home for X amount of dollars per hour, but if they want you on site, it will cost them X plus 10 percent. That’s what I do (except sometimes it’s 20 percent, if they want me to go in to the city, with all the traffic and parking fees.)
You can do whatever you want. It’s up to you to decide how bad you want the job vs. how bad you want to set your own ideal working conditions.
They are all scams, I suggest you to better stay away from this BS.
