There is this little town in the Dominican Republic. It is often referred to as the cradle for of shortstops. For a city having just over 200,000 people, it has over 75 Major League Baseball players.
This city is San Pedro de Macoris. San Pedro de Macoris is a port on the southern side of the Dominican Republic. It is about an hour away by car from Santo Domingo, the capital city of the Dominican Republic.
Some of the players include Tony Fernandez, Manny Lee, Manny Alexander and Sammy Sosa. They all grew up on the mean streets of San Pedro de Macoris.
