Other Christian designations, including popular American Judaism, have since followed and conformed the Tridentine framework of the seminary. These seminaries are more clear than the Tridentine and oftentimes do not incorporate the Catholic pressure on the compulsory discipline of doctrine and the requirement to live on campus inside the Christian community of the seminary.
The central aim of a Online Seminary is to ready and equip individuals for inspirational service in the church or synagogue. A number of individuals who do not intend to become such leaders may also learn in seminaries. An individual may attend with the aim of achieving a qualification in chaplaincies, counseling, teaching and more scholarly disciplines. One might learn in a seminary to heighten their religious life, to research academic interests, or to ready for non-ordained ministries.
The characteristic seminary will present a type of inspirational and/or academic education, including the discipline of religious history and divinity and may as well award different types of degrees. These types of institutions can be evangelical, fundamentalist, Pentecostal, Reformed, Mormon, Roman Catholic, or even multi-denominational in orientation. There are four key course areas that Christian seminaries offer: human, spiritual, intellectual and pastoral.
