I want to start some freelance photo editing, does anyone have some good ideas on how to get me started?

want to start to do some freelance, but i dont know where to start. I’m interested in photo retouching and digital photo restoration and some design. Ive have had several years of experience working for the studio im at now working with photoshop, illustrator, indesign, and bridge with a extensive portfolio. But i really need to make some extra money and spread my wings to do my own stuff in the long run. I seriously would love to one day just be able to work from home. If anyone has any good info or advise for me that would be great. Thanks!
I do advertising on Craigslists and have made quite a few customers. I do graphics (flyers/photo retouch/album art etc)

Well, I dont exactly know what you mean by "freelance."
Im also into photography too, I love it. I edit most photos, and I use Piknic. You can do so many things with Piknic.
I started a few days ago, and I love it. Its free by the way.
If you need more help, then please ask.

You need to promote yourself, letting people know what you can do. You are selling a product, so you need to advertise it, otherwise, nobody will know that it exists. 1) Create a website (if you haven’t already got one), and display your portfolio. Show what you can do, but only show the best. 2) Print some business cards with reference to your website, and some leaflets too that you can leave in places, like a hair-dresser saloon. 3) Advertise in the local newspaper. Tell people that you do photo restauration and photo enhancements. These are just a few examples, but they are crucial for starting your business.

I got started years ago when eLance was free. They are no longer free, but they are the biggest freelance site that I know of. Now I prefer Scriptlance.
