freelance web and graphic work – open for business?
November 152009
I got laid off from my employer 7 months ago. I’ve been trying to get freelance projects since then but not much luck. I’m a web/graphic designer based in India. Can anybody help/suggest how to go about networking proactively and attracting clients ?
Hello,
I am sorry to hear about you situation but I am sure you can find something. Just visit internet marketing forums and freelance sites. Place a post with the services you can provide and also contact people who look for services like you offer.
Start slowly, and offer lower prices to get a reputation. after some time you will be able to get lots of clients. Just remember that beginning are hard, but soon you will be having more and more work.

I have had good luck using the following freelance site. You have to spend a lot of time online trolling for jobs to bid on but it is worth it because you will get repeat customers if they are happy with you.

If you are interested in starting your own business online then I recommend that you first start with Private Label Rights (PLR) products. With PLR you can skip the hard, long, drawn out phase of creating a product to sell, PLR is a pre-made product that generally comes with a professional sales letter, graphics and mini website. All you need to do is buy a domain name and get the product and website online and start generating traffic to your site.
I’ll be honest this is not a get rich quick game. There are thousands of websites saying that you will make $5,000 tonight in your sleep, or $23,000 by next week but they are highly exaggerating the results just to get you to buy their book. As with any business you can be successful with a good product and thoughtful, consistent effort to bring customers to your door. The only difference with an Internet business is that it is much cheaper to get started and you can do it in your spare time so that you have time to build up a good supplemental income.
I went through this process and in doing so I wrote a book, "The Beginner’s Guide to Online Success – A Step-by-Step Manual for Starting an Online Business". I provide each detail you need with screen shots, videos, free software links and an step-by-step Action Plan that will help you get your first website up in 7 days or less.
